Stress - a signpost for growth

"All the situations in our life that we call stressful, difficult or challenging, are actually signposts for our growth." - Thomas Hübl, The Mystic's Guide to Transforming Stress

This past year there have been plenty of situations that have been stressful, difficult or challenging. We can justify the many reasons for feeling this way that are probably true.

How can we have a new relationship with ourselves in relation to stress that can help us to grow and move forward?

The key is to create space.

What does this mean? How does creating space fit in with additional family obligations and loyalties at this time of the year?

It means slowing down; becoming aware of our interior, noticing if there are body sensations or feelings. We are allowing our nervous system to synchronize instead of letting our minds run away from us.

Stress is not a personal problem alone. It has become a large part of our culture. Global decisions are being made under stress. We can begin with ourselves: slow down, allow the initial discomfort of sensations and feelings to be present - make space and know that you are building a container for yourself and for the world.

"Everything that we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

I hope you will join me in the New Year for the next Family Constellations workshop. We will be making space for what could not be seen or felt in the past and is experienced as a stress, difficulty or a challenge in the present.
